Breakfast of champions.

Doesn’t it look delicious? Actually it is.  (You can find the recipe below)  The first few times I juiced it was a little strange, but this one this morning tastes delicious, so my taste buds must be evolving.

As you know, I really dig Kris Carr’s Crazy, Sexy, Diet book and she is coming out really soon, February 14th, with a juicing and smoothie e-book.  You can follow her at My Crazy Sexy Life, to keep tabs. But I found that in the morning I would talk myself out of juicing because it felt so labor intensive.

I needed a way to make it as easily as I would pour a bowl of my kids not so good for me cereal. So on Wednesday morning as I was juicing, I started chopping away. easy tricks to juicing the evolving homemaker Pin It

Now, almost all the veggies are ready and labeled for repeated use except my cucumber, apple, and ginger.  Today I actually easily went to the fridge, grabbed my baggies, and am drinking my delicious, healthy juice as we speak. Here is what went in it:

Green Juice Recipe

1 carrot

1 apple

2-3 romaine lettuce leaves

5 small kale leaves

1 tiny piece of ginger

2 broccoli stem pieces

2 half stalks of celery

And wahlah, a healthy early morning boost to get your day going on the right track.  And no, in the attempt to be honest, I am not as healthy as this post would make me seem, but I am working on it.  The best part is, that my kids are over at the juicer making a juice for themselves too!

Yay for juicing! I am trying to drink green juice every day. Plus, I want to do a 3-5-day juice fast every 3 months or so to reset the system.

My husband and I watched the documentary, “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead” and were inspired to start doing regular juicing. He had done two 7 day fast so far and lost at least 15 pounds!

  7. jen Says:

WOW LaSandra! 15 pounds! i watched that movie too and really liked it. i don’t think i could juice as long as that guy did, but i will start with the 1 day juice fasts and then try a 7 day one. i know how cranky that makes me so kuddos to your hubby for doing it TWICE!

    :)
