About
My name is Jen, I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling, writing Mama of two. A six year old boy and a four year old girl. I am honest about my experiences in mothering, gardening, and crafting, even if it glaringly shows my imperfections. I am having a hell of a time enjoying the journey, wherever it leads!
I started this blog to write, write, and write some more. But to also become more creative, crafty, and simple along the way, and have a reason to hold myself accountable to those goals. I wanted to grow something that doesn’t turn brown in the middle of August. I wanted my children to experience the joy of simple things in life such as picking a cherry tomato from their own yard and feeling the burst of flavor explode in their mouth. I wanted to use a bit more ingenuity, and not necessarily call to my husband when I needed something done requiring nails. I wanted to learn to knit, and stay in straight lines. I wanted to discover sewing. I wanted to live more mindfully, more peacefully, more deliberately. And for crying out loud, I still have yet to figure out my bread maker. (I have a recurring problem with inches of space miraculously appearing between the actual bread and the crust.)
So, this is an adventure in the things I really want to learn to become good at. I am NOT, I repeat NOT Martha Stewart perfection. I am a stay at home Mom with two kids under seven, with schooling, baseball, swimming, ballet, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining that all need managing on top of yummy baked cookies from scratch.
The baked cookies from scratch just seem to help the other parts run more smoothly.
